		Job Title: Orthoptist / Ophthalmic Assistant - Sydney, NSW Job Type: Full Time Location: SYDNEY CBD + DARLINGHURST Date Advertised: 8/02/2024 Description: Envision Eye Centre is a boutique ophthalmology practice located on Macquarie Street Sydney and at Darlinghurst at St Vincent's Clinic. We are seeking a motivated enthusiastic orthoptist to join our friendly working environment. New graduates are welcome to apply as we provide full training. Dr John Males our principal Ophthalmologist specialises in cornea, cataracts, and refractive surgery. Envision Eye Centre is one of the first practices in Australia to do SMILE laser vision correction since 2015 and we have our own laser suite on site. Dr John Males is also the first surgeon in Australia to carry out collagen cross-linking. Our associates also specialize in dry eyes, ICL surgery, macular degeneration, and inflammatory eye diseases such as uveitis and glaucoma. Orthoptists who work at Envision are exposed to a wide variety of diseases and ophthalmic work. The ideal candidate will be able to carry out the following tasks: • Patient History taking • ASCAN – IOL master 700 • OCT/OPTOS • VISUCAM • Specular Microscopy • Verion • Pentacam/ Sirius and Corvis • Laser screening and Orthoptic led clinics • Management of IOL/ ICL calculations • Sterilising • Ordering of stock The successful applicant: Must possess outstanding customer service skills and be a reliable and highly organized individual who is able to work efficiently on their own and within a team environment. Our team work 4 days and have a rostered day off. The full-time hours are 38 hours per week, with a paid lunch break. The successful applicant will have a real passion for helping people not only achieve their dreams of being glasses-free with refractive surgery but also have empathy and patience for people with low vision. Someone with strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, self-motivation, and solutions-based problem-solving outside the box. Must be able to travel to the two locations both in Macquarie Street and at Darlinghurst. New graduates are welcome to apply.
