		Job Title: Orthoptist - Singapore Job Type: Full Time Location: Singapore Date Advertised: 17/06/2010 Description: The Singapore National Eye Centre is the designated centre within the public sector healthcare network to spearhead and coordinate the provision of specialised ophthalmological services, with emphasis on quality education and research. The Centre manages an annual workload of 250,000 outpatient visits, 14,000 major operations and 13,000 laser procedures. ORTHOPTIST As a member of the Adult Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology team, you will be involved in general orthoptic examination and paediatric ophthalmology sessions. You will carry out paediatric visual acuity checks, sensory and motor evaluation of squints, refraction, amblyopia diagnosis, counselling and orthoptic treatment. There will be opportunities for active participation in teaching and research projects. Requirements: · Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences (Orthoptics) · Able to communicate well with children of different age groups This is a 1-2 year appointment (renewable).
