		Job Title: Orthoptist - Parramatta, NSW Job Type: Full Time Location: Parramatta, NSW Date Advertised: 28/06/2010 Description: ORTHOPTIST-Full Time position to start July 2010 (Experience required) Join our friendly team at Hunter Street Eye Specialists in the heart of Parramatta consisting of four ophthalmologists and three full time and permanent part-time Orthoptists and use your skills in a stimulating, busy workplace. We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic and motivated Orthoptist to join our continually growing ophthalmic group specialising in anterior segment, glaucoma, retinal, corneal and refractive, and oculoplastics. Our rooms are modern and have purpose built facilities and state of the art equipment. The role requires patient assessment including vision, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, retinal photography, corneal topography, microscopy, A scan (IOL Master and Immersion) assisting with fluorescein angiography, Lucentis injections and other minor procedures, and Laser patient workup and counseling. You will be responsible for organising and coordinating surgery bookings. This will entail hospital bookings including all paperwork and operating lists finalisation and also other pivotal administrative duties. Your demonstrated organisational, management and leadership skills will be fully utilised in this role together with your strong clinical background. The ideal candidate will be experienced, have a professional manner with patients, a mature outlook, excellent telephone skills, professional presentation, high levels of communication and customer service skills. You will need to have attention to detail and be a team player. Computer literacy is essential. Familiarity with any practice management software would be an advantage.
