		Job Title: Orthoptist - North Rocks, NSW Job Type: Locum Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia Date Advertised: 26/07/2010 Description: Orthoptist Part time Maternity Leave Placement We are seeking applications from qualified and highly motivated Orthoptists to join the RIDBC VisionEd team on a temporary part time basis to cover for a maternity leave period of up to 12 months. The position involves assessing the vision of children from 0-18 years of age, writing reports on the implications for everyday activities and making recommendations for maximising the use of residual vision. It requires travel to children in their homes, schools and centre settings, as well as country travel for our outreach program. The successful applicant will possess: • Relevant qualifications in Orthoptics • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the Internet • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively • Interest in working with children • A current NSW drivers licence • Compliance with the child protection legislation Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board is desirable and experience in paediatric low vision will be well regarded.
